PUBLIC ARTWORKS

Inspired by Walter Benjamin's exploration of the 'aura' in the 1930s, Nicole’s work navigates contemporary challenges of reproduction, especially in the age of AI and social media. The projects below invite viewers to explore the convergence of the authentic and the reproduced. Each artwork lends itself to reproduction through photography and social media, but also exhibits qualities that can only be experienced in person through the play of light, texture and surrounding context. Nicole’s preferred medium of engineered timber and digital fabrication methods add another layer to her work, as each piece has the potential to be mass produced in its mode of construction.
