GENERATING A SNAPSHOT OF OCEAN POOLS IN NSW

Taking a true snap shot of NSW's Ocean Pools is a challenging prospect. This project requires accurate, detailed data which could be used to generate useful drawings through CAD software. Recently drones have made huge headway regarding this by using photogammetry software to make detailed, digital surveys of complex topographies.

The WildEdge project has put this to use, creating highly detailed records of ocean pools and a valuable snap shot of the typology in time. The data can can be used to measure changes in coastal geomorphology over time, make comparisons in the typology and ultimately formulate best practices in ocean pool maintenance, design and future-proofing.

Each pool showcased on this website hosts an interactive 3D model. To view the pools go to Show All
