URBAN PLANNING

Australia’s coastlines are a world class asset, with approximately 80% of our population living in proximity to the water’s edge. These contested spaces juggle diverse elements. The coast is home to rich marine life, thriving industry and high-value properties. However, it faces challenges from climate change and rising sea levels impacting established urban areas. Strategic planning and urban policy for the coast and coastal infrastructure highlights the crucial role of design in working with the natural environment to navigate these complexities.
